A breakfast so decadent you won't believe it's good for you.
Breakfast time doesn't need to be boring and can most definitely taste like dessert. I've become a big fan of the smoothie bowl as it allows me to get a tonne of nutrients to start the day, I can get creative with my toppings and most importantly it tastes delicious!
A smoothie bowl is pretty much a smoothie that has less liquid in order to make it a thicker consistency (which means I also don't gulp it down in two seconds). I find that the secret to thick creamy smoothie bowls is frozen banana and avocado (trust me on this one).

Serves 1
Ingredients
1 cup of liquid of your choice (I use almond milk)
One serving of a protein of choice (I use Tropeka)
1 Tbsp Cacao (or cocoa)
1/2 - 1 frozen banana
1/4 medium size avocado
Handful of spinach (organic if you can)
1/4 - 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Tsp maca powder (optional)
Chose any toppings you like:
Berries
Granola
Nuts & seeds
Coconut
Banana
Cacao nibs
Method
Pop everything in your blender and blend until smooth, you might need to add more liquid if you find it's not blending well. I find it best to add a little at a time to ensure it doesn't end up too runny.
Pour into a bowl and top with your favourite toppings - Enjoy!
